Programs

Fort Worth Sister Cities is dedicated to promoting cultural awareness and international understanding, provide community service to both local and international communities, educate the community, nation and world through our programs and to connect with members of the community, city officials and international delegates.
Sister Cities provides programs that are focused on education, arts, culture, economic development and humanitarian assistance. Our purpose is to provide the local community with leadership and communication skills to interact with the global community and to breakdown misunderstandings that lead to conflict. We believe in an international environment of peace and cooperation that welcomes all races and creeds and promotes the acceptance of diversity. We provide an educational environment that prepares the community for the future and motivates them to learn and study different cultures.
Economically our programs make a $2.8 million annual impact on the City of Fort Worth. Professional exchanges provide opportunities for trading “best practices” with our sister cities in fields of medicine, city management, education and more. Members are trained for global leadership and communication and our youth programs provide skills to students to help prepare them for global leadership. Exchange programs leave a positive impression on cultures, replacing the once negative stereotypes. The community benefits from arts and cultural exchanges and the corporate community benefits from trade missions, protocol training and relationship building with our sister cities.
