GAP ( Global Alumni Program)

The Fort Worth Sister Cities Global Alumni Program (GAP) was founded by a
group of four alumni in August 2002. GAP was formed to provide
opportunities for college-aged and young adults to participate in Fort Worth
Sister Cities International. Our mission is to bridge the gap between
adults and youth of Fort Worth Sister Cities International, creating a place
for young adults to develop programs that contribute to both the Fort Worth
and global community.

Adult Programs and Exchanges

Adult programs include education, arts and cultural group tours, hosting international visitors, professional development, professional exchanges, customized programs, international sports exchanges and business development. Volunteer Opportunities

OPPORTUNITIES TO TRAVEL - FWSCI programs offer travel opportunities abroad in the form of delegation trips to each of the sister cities. To become a delegate you must first join Sister Cities. For more information on Membership click here. Once you are a member you are eligible for all trips as a Fort Worth Ambassador. Ambassadors are ordinary citizens who represent the City of Fort Worth as Goodwill Ambassadors. This unique opportunity affords members the opportunity to go on scheduled tours of Sister Cities, travel in a group that may involve local city officials, be received in the sister city by the Mayor as an official representative of Fort Worth, and meet and learn about the people of the city you are visiting. Film Special Interest Group
Fort Worth Sister Cities International has recently created a Film Special Interest Group! In an effort to unite our membership cross-culturally, we are celebrating the hobbies and
interests that bring people together and make them passionate about the world in which they live. Certainly one of these passions is the love of international film and the way it helps us
experience and understand other cultures without having to hop on a plane. The film group meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. Please see calendar for more details. In the future, we will be organizing film viewings and learning about film festivals around the world. This is a wonderful time to get involved as we are just starting out. If you would like to join us, please contact Lisa Gail Barnes by clicking here.

Culinary and Wine Special Interest Group

Fort Worth Sister Cities International has recently created a Culinary Special Interest Group! In an effort to unite our membership cross-culturally, we are celebrating the hobbies and interests that bring people together and make them passionate about the world in which they live. Certainly one of these passions is the love of great food and wine and what better way to celebrate this passion than in the company of great people just like you?

The culinary group meets on the final Tuesday of every month at 6:00 p.m. (every month except December). Join us March 27, see calendar for more details. Currently we are working on two events. The first is a big event that will serve as the final awards ceremony for the 2007 Spring membership drive, and will be a "Taste of Fort Worth Sister Cities". The second event we are working on is a test run of these dishes and the dishes that the culinary group will prepare on site at the “Taste of Fort Worth Sister Cities event”.

In the future, we will be communicating and organizing cultural cooking classes, wine tours and tastings and gathering for meals and education throughout the year. This is a wonderful time to get involved as we are just starting out. If you would like to join us in the kitchen, please contact Lisa Gail Barnes by clicking here.

Young Professionals' Group

Are you under 40 and want to network with other young professionals in the community? If so, Fort Worth Sister Cities has the perfect opportunity for you do to just that! Our new young professional’s group meets for a networking happy hour and a brief professional development seminar every first Tuesday of the month.

As the young professional’s group is in the beginning stages, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved in a leadership role and help shape the program. If you are interested in taking a leadership role within the young professional’s group, please contact Beth Weibel by clicking here.
