Delegation Leader
Delegation leaders serve as lead teachers for youth ambassadors traveling to our sister cities. Individuals selected for this role are responsible for ensuring culturally enriched and safe exchanges for all involved. They prepare students for international travel and teach proper protocol. They also work with students teaching them how to share their own culture while abroad.
Delegation leaders play a key role in the success of student exchanges by preparing the students to be good citizen diplomats as they represent their city, state and country. Prior to exchanges, delegation leaders conduct cultural orientations and activities to prepare the students including packing tips, basic language practice, team building exercises, protocol training and guidelines for living with host families.
All delegation leaders are chosen through an interview process conducted in October for travel the following year.
