Never visited the islands of Indonesia? Join us on this special journey to celebrate Fort Worth’s 30-year partnership with Bandung, a sister city since 1990. Also, journey to the gorgeous island of Lombok, often referred to as the new Bali.
Bandung, capital of Indonesia’s West Java province, is a large city set amidst volcanoes and tea plantations, known for colonial and art deco architecture, with a lively, university-town feel and relatively cool tropical weather. Bandung is also a shopping destination with many fashion outlets.
During the four-day celebration in Bandung, you will attend a special Anklung performance, a traditional Indonesian instrument, and sample the exquisite cuisine of the country. The group will also visit Padjadjaran University, the Asia-Africa Museum and the Tangkuban Perahu Crater, which is believed to have a mystical ambiance, as well as many other special sites and attractions.
Next, travel to Lombok, one of Indonesia’s most fascinating, paradise-like islands. Gorgeous beaches, an adventure to the monkey forest, and visits to artist villages are just a small part of the experience. Other opportunities while in Lombok can include relaxing on the white sandy beaches, fishing, surfing and snorkeling.
