SUMMARY:Educational Tour of Cuba
DESCRIPTION:We will be traveling under the auspices of Cuba Cultural Travel\, an organization that has specialized in travel to Cuba since 1998.  In 2011\, the U.S. Government passed an executive order making it easier for Americans to visit Cuba. The federal government has issued licenses to a select number of tour companies to operate what are known as “People to People Cultural Exchanges” and Cuba Cultural Travel is one of them. \n\nOur journey will take us to Havana\, the capital of the country and its commercial and cultural center since colonial times. You will experience the wonderful rustic charm of a city that has remained largely unchanged for over 50 years. You will also visit Santa Clara and Trinidad. You will meet the Cuban people and learn about daily life in these amazing communities. \n\nThis trip will not only bring us together with the people of Cuba\, but will enable us to develop friendships and a new understanding of the rich and varied cultural fabric of this unique island nation. A true people to people exchange! \n\nA minimum of 20 delegates are required with a $1\,000 deposit by August 5\, 2016 \nClick here to download tentative itinerary & registration form

SUMMARY:Diplomatic Mission to Russia
DESCRIPTION:Over the last two years relations between the US and Russia have deteriorated badly.  Fort Worth Sister Cities feels the time is ripe for citizen diplomats from both countries to step in and help reduce this non-tenable situation. Many Americans and Russians genuinely yearn for good relations between our two nations. There are no problems between the peoples of Russia and the USA. We only need to overcome our distrust and fears\, and build cultural understanding and respect of each other to guarantee friendly relations. Fort Worth Sister Cities International is traveling to Russia in 2018 for that very reason.\n\nSee the tentative itinerary\nDownload the registration form.

SUMMARY:Hiroko Tanaka Art Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Hiroko Tanaka is from Yokohama-city\, Kanagawa\, Japan and will be featuring her latest works at the Fort Worth Community Arts Center. Tanaka is an executive committee member of the Ohgenkai Art League and a member of the Japanese Artist Association.\nWhen she was a teenager\, she was chosen to be a model for the Girl Scouts Friendship statue in Yokohama along with Nagaoka Chair and Fort Worthian Libby Watson. Half a century later\, she has had a reunion with Libby and has visited Fort Worth\, Texas twice. She created this new series of paintings titled “Five V” as an expression of how she was moved by the bond of friendship. Five main women are represented throughout the paintings\, each with her own color and key word. Their characters and colors\, their passage through the past\, the present\, and the future creates a tapestry of the humor\, closeness\, and elegance that is their friendship with one another.
