DESCRIPTION:Fort Worth Sister Cities International has an incredible opportunity for high school students (grades 9-12) to participate in a State Department sponsored program called the Experiment Digital. This program is scheduled for six weeks for this summer and is free of charge and 100 percent digital.\n\nStudents selected for the program will interact with high school students from Iraq\, Yemen\, Algeria\, Tunisia\, Bahrain\, Libya\, Jordan and others.\n\nApplicants must:\n\n 	be between the ages of 14-19 or currently enrolled in high school\n 	speak basic English\n 	commit to 4 hours per week for 6 weeks during the summer of 2023\n\nThe priority enrollment deadline is Feb. 15\, with a final deadline of March 27.\n\nOn the application\, students should answer “yes” to the question\, “Were you nominated to apply by your sponsoring organization?” Then choose Fort Worth Sister Cities International from the drop down list.\n\nApply now.\nFind out more.

DESCRIPTION:Understanding and Respecting Other Cultures\nMany of us through various programs have the privilege of interacting with people from countries around the world. At the core – people are people and deserve our respect while also wanting to understand us. However\, a lack of understanding of a culture affords you the opportunity to unintentionally offend people – creating an oftentimes insurmountable barrier to positive interactions that could lead to meaningful relationships.\n\nIn this class\, we will explore the world’s regions and how we as Americans can avoid unintentional offense while exhibiting behaviors that build trust and open the door to long-term\, successful business and personal relationships.\n\nThe training is free to members\, but registration is required. SUMMARY:Tricolore Games
DESCRIPTION:The Tricolore Games\, held every four years in Fort Worth’s sister city\, Reggio Emilia\, Italy\, began due to admiration for the world Olympic Games and their ability to create peace and unity among people.\n\nFort Worth Sister Cities International partners with local schools and sports teams who are responsible for preselecting team members based on their sport’s requirements and Sister Cities’ guidelines. Selected team members and coaches attend team and cultural orientations and cover all expenses pertaining to their participation.\n\n\nNearly 80 Fort Worth students attended the Tricolore Games in Reggio Emilia in 2018.
